Dr. Peter Balogh received an Honours degree in Organic Chemistry at the University of Western Ontario in 1985, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto in 1989. He is a Fellow with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and a Board Certified Diplomate with the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry (ABOI). Dr. Balogh has lectured and provided surgical training to dentists, auxiliaries and denturists on the prosthetic and surgical placement of implants, and currently directs a large general practice where he specializes in implant, reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry.
My name is Matt Bladowski. We also help dentists in areas of marketing, practice management and practice valuations. I'm married to a dentist and manage 3 offices and over 60 awesome people. I am a Schulich (York) MBA graduate and in the process of obtaining my Chartered Business Valuator designation. Nadean’s career working with and supporting dental professionals, clinically, administratively, and managerial has spanned over 3 decades. Over the years, she applied her training as a Certified Dental Assistant and education in Business Administration and Marketing to the operation of dental practices and business issues unique to dentistry. Her unique skill-sets and people-centred philosophy along with a large dose of common-sense mixed with excellent organizational skills to produce creative and practical solutions to virtually every aspect of business and career planning, management and transition. Nadean has built solid relationships with dental and other professionals (bankers, accountants, and lawyers) as a respected practice assessor, and practice management and career transition coach. A prolific author, her articles are published extensively in print and social media. She is a respected educational adviser on business planning, management and transition; presenting at dental conferences, various study clubs and AGMs – Nadean is passionate about sharing knowledge, skills, and experience to empower others in their careers, businesses, and lives.
Brandelyn joined The Aurum Group in March 2016 and holds the position of Director of Dental Practice Marketing. She is responsible for facilitating marketing and practice development strategies between the Aurum Group and various dental practices. She has more than 15 years of experience in the development and automation of medical and dental practices. Prior to joining The Aurum Group, she was the Regional Manager with a leading Toronto based dental group, and previously held the position of Client Relations Director with prominent Canadian Practice Management firm for several years. She attended Cape Breton University where she graduated with a B.A. in Community Studies with an academic concentration in Marketing & Communications. She has also completed the Dental Assistant Registration Course and Examination through the University of Texas Health Sciences Centre. Topics covered include Jurisprudence, Infection Control, and Radiology. Brandelyn is a former member of the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries (ADIA), a component society of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), the world’s largest dental implant society, where she completed the Practice Management Certification Program in 2012.
Dr. Clark is co-director of Bioclear Learning Centers International. He founded the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry. He is on the editorial board for several journals and has lectured in 20 different countries. Dr. Clark has developed the Bioclear Matrix System that promises a real advancement for placement of biologically appropriate, esthetically pleasing direct composite restorations for treating minimally invasive Class II preparations, diastema closure, and black triangle elimination combined with papilla regeneration, and traditional anterior composites. He has been granted several US patents. Dr. Clark served for 18 months as the lecturer and lead dentist for CRA during Gordon Christensen’s absence and served on CRA’s board of directors for several years. He maintains a private practice in Tacoma WA USA.
I am a recent graduate from Dalhousie University now working in Pasadena, Newfoundland. I am originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, which I where I did my undergraduate degree before coming to Dalhousie. During my undergraduate degree I did research looking for new antibiotics that function against mycobacterium tuberculosis as well as other pathogens by looking at the fungi that grow in the roots of plants that First Nations used medicinally.
Henry Doyle is a graduate of the University of Alberta and a licensed real estate broker. He has over fifteen years industry experience in healthcare finance with Citibank. Henry now owns and operates the Heaps & Doyle group. This group of companies includes three dental brokerages: Al Heaps & Associates Inc., Hill Kindy and Practice Solutions; an Associate placement division: Associates on Demand; premise lease advising: ExperDENT; Dental Practice Consolidators, which assists investor dentists in their acquisition and growth and HD Dental Coaching; a practice management and coaching division. Henry brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the business of dentistry.

Dr. Faraj Edher is a Specialist in Prosthodontics focused on cosmetic transformations and implant reconstructions using the most advanced digital technology. He received his dental degree from the University of Sharjah College of Dental Medicine, and then completed his Masters in Craniofacial Science and post-graduate specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of British Columbia. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, and the Canadian Association of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. Dr. Edher is the Director of the Digital Dentistry Institute, a global educational organization that conducts comprehensive training programs in digital dentistry and implant dentistry. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor and guest lecturer at the University of British Columbia and has numerous publications in areas such as digital dentistry and dental implants.

Dr. Steven Faigan received his undergraduate and dental degrees from McGill University. He subsequently graduated from Boston University with both a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in General Dentistry, and a Specialty Certificate in Periodontics and Oral Biology. He has been a periodontal consultant to the BC Cancer Agency, and is a past president of the BC Society of Periodontists. He is past Associate Clinical Professor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry and is the founder and mentor of the Okanagan Periodontal Study Club established in 1995. Dr. Faigan is actively involved in providing continuing education programs, and maintains a private specialty practice in Kelowna, BC devoted to Periodontics and Oral Biology. He has a particular interest in cosmetic periodontal surgery with a restorative driven approach.

Dr. Trista Felty was born and raised in Pennsylvania where she attended Villanova University (BSc. Biology, BSc. Honors Science) and was a member of the varsity swim team. She attended Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry for her dental degree (DMD) and her Orthodontic residency program (MSc. Oral Biology, Cert. in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics). She is a part time faculty member in the graduate orthodontic program at the University of British Columbia and is in a private practice partnership in Abbotsford, BC. She dedicates a considerable portion of her time serving on various dental and orthodontic committees and boards, on both the local and national levels. She is a passionate advocate for having more female and younger members hold various positions in organized dentistry in recognition of the changing landscape of the dental profession.
Dr. Gary Glassman is DC Institute's Faculty Chair and Chief Dental Officer at dentalcorp. Dr. Glassman is a world- renowned Endodontic specialist who lectures globally, the author of numerous publications, editor for Oral Health Journal, is on staff at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. As Adjunct Professor of Dentistry and Director of Endodontic Programming from 2010-2017, Gary helped develop the dental school curriculum for the Oral Health Science programme for the University of Technology, Kingston, Jamaica. Dr. Glassman does all of this while still maintaining his private practice in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Sasha Glavic joined CDSPI Advisory Services Inc. in 2014. In his current role as a bilingual insurance advisor, Sasha provides insurance advice and solutions to dental students and dental professionals across Canada. With several years of industry experience, along with a background in home and auto products, Sasha uses his expertise to advise dental students and dentists on their personal and professional insurance needs. Visiting dental schools across Canada, Sasha educates students on the risks that can be addressed with insurance and how to help protect their financial future. Sasha holds a Bachelor’s degree from Windsor University. He is licensed as a general insurance broker and as a life and accident and sickness insurance advisor.
As the BC Dental Association's Co-Director of Member Services, Dr. Jones brings more than 20 years of clinical practice, as well as industry experience in marketing and business development to assist dentists with a variety of practice-related issues. She received her DDS from the University of Western ON, and MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. Dr. Jones has practiced most of her career as an associate in GP practice and continues to do so on a part-time basis. In her role at BCDA, she lectures at UBC on the topic of associateships, and helps mediate disputes between principals and associates.

David Kennedy is Dually Boarded and a Dual Fellow in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. After over 40 years in private practice, he now serves as Co Clinic Director and a Clinical Professor in Graduate Orthodontics at the University of British Columbia. He has published extensively and lectured worldwide, mainly on Early Orthodontic Treatment and treatment outcomes.
Dr. Scott Kollen was born, raised, and educated in greater Vancouver. After finishing the UBC DMD program, he practiced on Vancouver Island for a few years before making the jump across the Rockies to a group practice in Calgary. He had an eye-opening experience in Alberta, where he quickly became partner in the group and got to be a part of a period of extreme growth, going from 5 to 15 startup clinics in a few years time. He has since returned to Vancouver and opened his rapidly growing startup clinic, River District Dentistry. Expanding his skillset through global continuing education is important to Dr. Kollen, as regional CE can become somewhat dogmatic, and as such he endeavors to either attend CE around the globe, or CE presented by non-local speakers. This learning is largely facilitated by the the role of social media in today's dental industry, where new ideas, topics, and courses can be discovered in Facebook groups, Instagram feeds, and podcasts; all via a smartphone. In his spare time, Dr. Kollen enjoys surfing, flyfishing, cooking, and travel.

Dr. Mark Kwon studied in Pharmaceutical Sciences and obtained his Doctors of Dental Medicine from UBC. He is a full time clinician in his implant only practice, Chrysalis Dental Centre and focuses on various implant surgery, advanced bone grafting and full mouth reconstruction including Ao4 ‘Teeth-in-a-Day’ procedures. Dr. Kwon is a founder/Chair of the BITES Institute, an Implant Institute which focuses on providing surgical prosthetic training courses as well as monthly study clubs to support general dentists' on-going needs in implant dentistry. He is well known throughout Canada for his appearances on various dental stages, including the Pacific Dental Conference Live Stage in 2013 to 2019 and continues to teach fellow practitioners on the immediate implant solutions that define his clinical work throughout Canada and abroad. He has a passion for dental implants all his career, and he is actively volunteering in the community by supporting underprivileged people and young students.
Dr. Lea graduated from UBC Dental School in 1980. He has been a solo, general practitioner on Salt Spring Island for 38 years. For most of that time, he treated patients requiring orthopedic and fixed orthodontics. He has been diagnosing and treating occlusal problems, joint pain, reduced function, and general bite imbalances for well over 15 years. It took Dr. Lea several years to work out a simple, easily-applied, affordable yet still profitable and effective way that he could apply to his own patients suffering from occlusal problems that often led to TMD. Dr. Lea is now very confident with the protocol that he has developed for the diagnosis and treatment of occlusal problems and for relieving patients of discomfort and reduced jaw function. He is very excited to share it with you now.
Dr. Brad Labrecque is a general dentist whose focus is incorporating Laser Technology in the modern dental practice . He is passionate about training dental practioners in the use of Dental Lasers in all clinical procedures . Dr. Labrecque implemented lasers early in his clinical practice being one of the first dentists in Canada . He has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education and his practical experience makes him a global authority on Laser Dentistry and is sought after by dental practitioners worldwide to train them in successful implementation of this technology to improve their clinical outcomes from the traditional dental protocols. Since 1995 Dr. Labrecque has lectured globally on this technology in many conferences including Canada / USA / Australia / New Zealand / Iceland / Slovenia / Germany. Dr. Labrecque actively maintains a general group practice at Cedar Dental Centre in Kamloops BC Canada since 1984 where it is focused on minimally invasive dentistry.
Dr. Lin grew up in Montreal before earning her DMD from McGill University, subsequently completing a general practice residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. She has a strong interest in public health and organized dentistry, and served as the Vice-President of Federation of Canadian Dental Student Associations. Dr. Lin practices in a community clinic in Edmonds, Washington and remains an affiliate faculty member at the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
Tanya Sue Maestas born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Attended The University of Texas at El Paso for undergrad and The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston (UTSD) where she graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2018. Before beginning UTSD, she applied to become part of the National Health Service Corps where she received assistance with her tuition where in return she is to provide care to those in an underserved community. Tanya Sue has a passion for public health, organized dentistry, and education. In the future she hopes to continue her involvement with organized dentistry on a local and national level where she hopes to keep the importance of access to care at the forefront. When she is not working in dentistry you can find her enjoying to sing, running, participating in arts and crafts, or enjoying a good meal with friends and family.
Dr. Mahn attained his BSc from McMaster University in 2003 and DDS from Western University (Schulich) in 2007. He holds a certificate for Intravenous Conscious Sedation, completed during his General Practice Residency at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre at the University of Toronto. His focus is limited to implant dentistry and CT-guided surgery with recent cases featured in White & Pharaoh’s 8 th edition textbook of Oral Radiology. Currently serving as Principal Dentist and Chief Clinical Officer of Smile City/Paris Dental Centre, Dr. Mahn manages a team of over 75 along with his brother and co-owner, David. Dr. Mahn has a passion for mentorship and currently acts as Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral Surgery at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. He also currently serves as Chair of the Ontario Dental Association’s Membership Services and Programs Advisory Committee and past Chair of the ODA’s Student Services Committee.

Dr. Kavita Mathu-Muju is as Associate Professor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry. She completed her DMD at the University of Manitoba in 1993 and received her MPH and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2006. Her research examines inequities in oral health experienced by children adversely effected by the social determinants of health.

Dr. Munsie is a hospital pediatric dentist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa. She is from Vancouver, BC and completed her BSc (2008) and Master of Business Management (2010) at UBC and her DDS from Western’s Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry (2014). She then did a GPR at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto (2015) and completed her specialty in pediatric dentistry at the University of Washington in Seattle (2018).

Dr. Newitt completed his Bachelors Degree from Simon Fraser University in 1988 and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of British Columbia in 1993. He spent two years interning at the British Columbia Cancer Agency before moving onto private practice in Vancouver. Dr. Newitt has continued his education in dental technologies and advanced aesthetics over the last 15 years. In 2016 Dr. Newitt received his Associate Fellow credentials from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Ortiz began as a Dental Technician, working his way to Harvard School of Dental Medicine (DMD), then University of Illinois. Asurgically trained prosthodontist he provides a wide range of treatments at Brookline Dental Centre in Boston. He’s a passionate advocate for excellence in Prosthodontics, implant and reconstructive dentistry. As a student, Dr. Ortiz used his skills as a professional photographer to highlight restorative work and share it on social media. Soon his posts were going out to 200,000+ InstaGram followers, spreading to millions of dental professionals, making him a leading dental Influencer. Dr. Ortiz teaches around the world on a variety of topics, including his own acclaimed Dental Photography Courses. He’s the founder of DentLit, an organization dedicated to ongoing dental education. When Dr. Ortiz isn’t photographing teeth, his favorite subjects are his wife and three sons. He also loves poker and watching football (that’s soccer to us).

Dr. Racich practices general dentistry emphasizing comprehensive restorative dentistry, prosthodontics and TMD/orofacial pain. Dr. Racich is a member of many professional organizations and has lectured nationally and internationally on subjects relating to patient comfort, function and appearance. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American College of Dentists as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Stephane Reinhardt has treated over 1,000 orthodontic cases using Invisalign and was the first Canadian to win the Invisalign Summit Shootout in 2015. He is the CEO and CoFounder of the C.L.E.A.R. Institute, whose mission is to help dentists and their team to integrate efficiently and successfully clear aligners in their practices.
Dr. Tom Roozendaal is a General Dentist who practices on Vancouver Island in the Cowichan Valley. He graduated from UBC in 2001 and is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He sat on the Research Submission Committee of the Academy of Osseointegration for 8 years and currently sits on the Clinical Innovations Committee of that same organization. Dr. Soucy received his DMD (1980) from l’Université de Montréal, a certificate in Prosthodontics (1985) and an M.Sc (1988) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been licensed as a specialist in prosthodontics since 1986. He was on faculty at Laval University from 1980 to 1996 and joined the staff of the Canadian Dental Association in 1997 where as the Director, Clinical and Scientific Affairs he is involved in the management of clinical and scientific issues, of relations with dental specialists, dental faculties and students, and dental benefit carrier. Dr. Soucy is active in standardisation, health informatics and terminology at the national and international levels. Dr. Soucy was president of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada in 1996-97, is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and of the International College of Dentists. He received the Distinguished Service Award of the Canadian Dental Association in 2017.
Dr. Peter Walford is a graduate of McGill University, private practitioner, and mentor of study groups in composite resin technique and adhesive reconstruction. He has presented nationally, published numerous technique articles, and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. While raising a family on a gulf island in British Columbia, he has operated a small farm and practiced for 33 years in a mobile clinic serving two island communities. A frequent presenter on the Live Stage at the Pacific Dental Conference, he initiated the first online study club with the BC Dental Association. Known for creative yet practical solutions to daily clinical challenges, he has unravelled the scientific and materials complexity of adhesion-based technique to produce methods that make sense and work effectively. He has recently completed a Handbook of Composite Technique summarizing methods of adhesive dentistry that can be trusted.
Bruce Ward graduated from McGill University in 1976. He worked as an associate in Bermuda, then moved to Vancouver in 1978, where he has practiced ever since. He has worked in private practice as an associate, a partner in a group practice, and as a practice owner who has employed two associates. He is a past president of the British Columbia Dental Association, Chair of the Pacific Dental Conference Organizing Group, BC Board member of the Canadian Dental Association, and lectures at UBC on ethics, professionalism, and practice management. He is chair of the BCDA Mentorship Program, and is very interested in ensuring that new graduates get the support they need to succeed in Dentistry.
